NIZAMABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has charged that the Congress and Telugu Desam Party have entered into “cheekati oppandalu (black agreements)” to defeat TRS and Telangana sentiment.

Addressing a well-attended public meeting at FCI Grounds at Dichpally on Monday night, he described the byelections as a “life and death” question for Telangana people.

“Every person in Telangana needs to uphold Telangana jenda(flag) and support the party which is spearheading the Telangana movement,” he said.

Saying that the Congress after making a clear promise that it would form Telangana State if voted to power, cheated people of the region. The region during the last five decades of Andhra governance is subjected to injustice in funds, jobs and water sharing, he said.

Reiterating that he would make a Dalit as the Chief Minister and a Muslim as Deputy Chief Minister if the Telangana State was formed, he accused the Government of diverting Rs.13,000 crore from the Special Component Fund of Scheduled Castes and Tribes to other works.

Saying that Telangana was being discriminated against in all fields, Mr. Rao said unless a separate State is carved out, injustice and discrimination would continue.

He appealed to people to ensure victory of TRS candidate from Dichpally constituency Gaddam Anand Reddy with an overwhelming majority.
